GET THE LOOK…NOBU HOTEL MARBELLA

Last week, I travelled to sunny Marbella for the opening of the newest Nobu hotel Marbella. The opening was a tremendous amount of fun and one of the hottest events this month: around 100 guests – bloggers, journalist and sports personalities – assembled from different corners of the world and everyone had the best time. Every single aspect was very well thought through, and it felt like LA paradise. As you would expect with any Nobu outpost, the food – a lot of my favourite sushi! – was absolutely delicious and, most importantly, healthy. I also loved the enthralling street art performance from Konny Steding.

On the night of the opening, I wore stunning dress by my favourite fashion knitwear designer, Ekaterina Kukhareva, and a show stopping Russian style crown from VICKISARGE. I could not resist wearing it for such an occasion, as I am sure you know my weakness for tiaras and crows, weather it is antique, diamond or costume!

What did you think of my look from Nobu Hotel Marbella? Are you planning your holiday wardrobe at the moment? I’d love to hear your favourite items from this look. If you enjoyed this post, or want to see more style posts like this, please leave me a comment below.

RUBY: THE KING OF GEMS BOOK REVIEW

“Ruby’s fiery radiance, in all shades of red, has captivated the human imagination since the beginning of time… Ruby is not a gem for the faint-hearted, but for the brave and the bold.”

Recently, I attended the launch party at Somerset House for a dazzling new book from jewellery historian Joanna Hardy in collaboration with GEMFIELDS, Ruby: the King of Gems. This coffee table book is as lavishly illustrated as it is informative and is a great follow up to her equally stunning book on emeralds (Emerald: Twenty-one Centuries of Jewelled Opulence and Power).

Ruby: the King of Gems is a fascinating exploration of the previous stone and contains a dazzling array of images of ruby pieces worn by celebrities ranging from royalty to film stars, all alongside classic images of rubies from art, fashion and advertising. The book also showcases sixty of the world’s most significant and renowned pieces of ruby jewellery, including many previously unseen designs from royal and private collections. Additionally, Ruby offers practical guidance on what to look for in a quality ruby. This is certainly a must-have coffee table book for every jewellery lover!

JESSICA MCCORMACK BRIDAL FROM 0.20 TO 20 CARAT

I just got married in the Maldives, and many of you are asking about engagement rings: both classic and alternative options. For this post, I am excited to share with you my wonderful experience at Jessica McCormack’s charming boutique in the heart of London’s Mayfair.

Highlighting the traditional techniques which have become intrinsic to her design process including the Georgian Cut-Down setting and Button Back, every Jessica McCormack engagement ring has an unmistakable uniqueness. Each signature design can be purchased from the shop floor or recreated within the on-site workshop around a diamond of the clients choosing, from 0.20 carat to 20.00 carat.

The bridal experience at Jessica McCormack is just that – an exceptional experience. Situated in the heart of Mayfair, the journey begins the moment a client walks through the doors of the breath-taking 19th century townhouse, filled with an ever-changing array of contemporary art, antiques, and books. There is a sense of discovery as you enter the store; from viewing Jessica’s design sketches and diamond selection, to the traditional handcrafted techniques used to create the final piece within the on-site workshop, often described by Jessica as the beating heart of the house.

A beautifully curated range of existing designs are available to purchase on the shop floor, from elegant Bamboo wedding bands to simple Button Back diamond engagement rings in a variety of diamond cuts. Many clients fall in love with an existing piece, while others will simply be inspired to commission something bespoke.

Highly personalised for each client, bespoke commissions begin with an informal chat in the house’s curiosity-filled library with Jessica herself. Jessica’s intuitive ability to understand and work with clients, coupled with ten years’ of designing bespoke engagement rings, provides a specialised bespoke process focused on crafting the perfect ring for the individual. Diamond selection with Jessica’s business partner and in-house diamantaire Michael Rosenfeld also takes place on site. With Michael’s vast experience as a third generation diamantaire and access to the best diamonds in the world, clients are afforded the luxury of direct one-to-one access to find a diamond that speaks to them most.

With an utterly unique aesthetic merging traditional Georgian setting techniques, modern and antique diamond cuts, and contemporary influences, a Jessica McCormack ring will always have an eye-catching individuality about it. This distinct style is the reason her designs are sought-after worldwide by a diverse clientele whether it’s a bespoke client wishing to create their own original heirloom designed by Jessica, or a visitor to the house who falls in love with a finished piece.

This year, Jessica McCormack celebrates 6 Signature Bridal settings – a combination of existing designs and beautiful new additions to her Bridal offering.

Jessica McCormack The Little Mermaid Ring

A new take on a Jessica McCormack icon, the revival of the Little Mermaid Ring is inspired both by the tragic Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy-tale of 1837 and the happy ending of Disney’s cinematic version. Representing the fearless rebellion of the film’s heroine Ariel, it features tiny yellow gold scallop shells and a gently swirling band.

From the Signature Bridal collection, set with a central 1.50 carat oval diamond in Georgian Cut-Down setting, handcrafted in 18k yellow gold and 18k white gold. Total diamond weight 1.95 carats.

Jessica McCormack Signature Button Back Ring

Jessica’s most iconic design featuring the Georgian Cut-Down setting, this may be the most minimalist design in Jessica’s range, but the mix of yellow and white gold gives it the vintage twist that makes it an unmistakably recognisable design.

From the Signature Bridal collection, set with a 1 carat brilliant cut diamond, handcrafted in 18k white gold and 18k yellow gold.

Jessica McCormack Cushion Cut-Down Ring

The Cushion Cut-Down ring has a simple understated elegance reflective of Jessica’s low-key luxury. The diamond is beautifully set in the Signature Georgian Cut-Down and an intricate scalloped gallery ensures that the ring’s handcrafted details can be seen from every angle.

From the Signature Bridal collection, set with a 2.08 carat cushion cut diamond in a Georgian Cut-Down setting, handcrafted in 18k white gold and 18k yellow gold.

Jessica McCormack Daisy Halo Ring

Jessica’s unique take on the traditional ‘halo’ setting, the Daisy Halo incorporates the specialised craftsmanship and essence of the house style, including the Georgian cut-down setting and blackened yellow gold. This is a modern vintage piece, a nod to the past but with a contemporary design element.

From the Signature Bridal collection, set with a central 0.70 carat brilliant cut diamond in Scalloped Cut-Down setting, surrounded by 12 brilliant cut diamonds, handcrafted in 18k white gold, 18k yellow gold and oxidised silver. Total diamond weight 1.06 carats.
